Chronic Pain

What is chronic pain?

Chronic pain is a symptom of an underlying medical issue that causes pain lasting more than three months. Numerous conditions can lead to chronic pain. Dr. Kullman pinpoints the cause of your discomfort and treats it so that you can rediscover your quality of life.

Which conditions can cause chronic pain?

Examples of pain-causing conditions include:

  • Migraines
  • Headaches
  • Cancer
  • Neuropathic pain
  • Nerve pain
  • Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
  • Other types of ongoing discomfort

Dr. Kullman often prescribes ketamine to treat these conditions, as it inhibits pain receptors, interfering with pain transmission throughout your body.

Ketamine treatments also reduce troublesome symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and numerous other mental health concerns.

What are the risk factors for chronic pain?

Chronic pain may appear because of an injury, chronic disease, age-related wear, or unknown causes. Common pain complaints include low back pain, arthritis discomfort, cancer pain, and nerve issues.

Depression and anxiety can also cause ongoing aches or pains. Your risk of pain increases because of unhealthy lifestyle habits, carrying excess weight, or a family history of pain-causing concerns.

Which chronic pain treatment is best for me?

Dr. Kullman discusses your symptoms and medical history to determine which pain-management treatment best suits you.

He checks your vital signs, completes a physical exam and psychiatric evaluation, and may order blood testing, X-rays, or other imaging procedures.

Which chronic pain treatments are available?

Dr. Kullman and his team offer the following chronic pain treatments:

     Ketamine infusion therapy

Infusing ketamine into a vein in your arm is a quick way to administer the medication into your bloodstream. It helps alleviate ongoing discomfort long-term.

     Home ketamine therapy

If you qualify, Dr. Kullman helps you receive home-based ketamine medications (pills, dissolving tablets, or nasal spray) delivered right to your doorstep. He explains how to take the medicine properly for quick relief.

     Botox®

Botox® injections ease pain caused by migraines, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and other painful medical concerns.
